Thomas James Witt was born to the late Martin and Eliza Witt on April 29, 1918, in Livingston, Alabama. He was united in matrimony to the late Fannie Cain Witt. Thomas joined Trinity Congregational Church where he was a member until his death.
He attended Alabama State University and Alabama A & M University and received a Bachelor and Master Degree in Education. He also served as an Educator and Principal in Limestone County.
Preceding him in death were his sisters, Legertha Dobbins, Zenobia Taylor and brother Charles Witt
His memory is cherished by his son Thomas C. Witt, one daughter-in-law, Martha J. Witt, one grandson, Anthony P. Witt (Sonja) all of Huntsville, Alabama; one sister, Elnora Lewis, Livingston, Alabama; two brothers, Herman Witt and Martin Witt, Jr. (Agustine) both of Chicago, IL; one sister-in-law, Clara Bell, Athens , Alabama; one brother-in-law, Barnwell Cain, Battle Creek, MI; Four grandchildren; Tiffany Gullette, Mobile, Alabama, Nicholas, Jasmine and Cameron Witt, Huntsville, Alabama, caretakers Brenda Baker, Monique Carthen and Charles (Red) Sholders; and a number of other relatives and friends.
