Susie Witt was born in Livingston Alabama on February 24, 1888 to the union of Henry Witt and Morning Jewell Clay Witt.  Susie Witt  married Robert L. McCain on May 18, 1940 and to this union,  Henry McCain and Robert McCain were born. Susie migrated to Birmingham, Alabama in a neighborhood comprised of Mary Witt Washington, Sandy Witt, and Thomas Jessie Witt in the early 1900's. Susie worked as a cook for the Washington Baptist Hospital in Birmingham. In the latter years of her life and after retirement, Susie had a stroke that left her paralyzed, never recovered and died in the hospital after the stroke.
