Howard Witt

Howard was born on October 23, 1948, to the late Mr. Sandy Witt Jr. and Ms. Minnie Boware. He was the oldest of Four (4) children. He was preceeded in death by his father, mother, sister (Sherie Witt) and grand daughter (Arnika Addison).

 

Howard confessed Christ at an early age, and became a member of Williams Chapel CME Church, and held office of Trustee. He was a devoted member of his Church, where he attended until his health begin to fail him.

 

Howard was educated in the Birmingham City School system. While at C. W. Hayes High School, he became a varsity player on his high school football team. After graduation, he attended the Job Corps in Idaho, where he learned how to cook, flag in airplanes, received his forklift operator licence, and learned how to ride horses. When he returned home, he worked for the city of Birmingham, Stockham Valves and Fittings, and UAB Hospital. He also was coach for the Little League football and baseball teams in his community. He loved deep sea fishing, and was a member of the Stocham Bowling team.

 

Howard was united in Holy Matrimony to Elizabeth A. Hamilton on October 11, 2002.

 

Howard leaves to cherish his memories a loving, caring and devoted wife, Elizabeth A. Witt; Four (4) sons, Stanley D. Thomas-Witt (Rachal), Demetrius Bridges Witt, Howard Witt Jr.  (Angela)  and Arthur Russell 111, all of Birmingham, Alabama; two daughters, Candice Y. Witt (Fred) of Birmingham, Alabama, and Shanique D. Monroe of Hampton, VA; Two (2) sisters, Juanita Witt Laughlin and Dian L. Witt of Birmingham; Thirteen (13) grandchildren; Two (2) great-grandchildrenand a ost of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
