Delores Witt Tart

 

Delores Witt Tart, 84 of Southwest Philadelphia,  PA died Sunday, March 30, 2014. Delores also known as Aunt Lois, Nannie, Aunt Dibba, and a second mom to many, was a kind loving woman who helped everyone. "Her heart had no Borders" said her daughter, Valarie Hansan-Alobadi. She was born in Livingston Alabama, the daughter of Willie and Mattie Witt. Delores went to nursing school in Philadelphia and was a registered nurse at Metropolitan Hospital for 20+ years. She was a regular volunteer who cooked at the Ronald McDonald House in West Philadelphia, loved to cook and bake for her family friends.  Delores was a member of Mt.St. Zion Baptist Church and St. Francis De Sales Church.  She is predeceased by her husband and childhood sweetheart, John Tartt, and her five (5) brothers; Willie, Alfonso, Warren, Walter and Curtis Witt. She is survived by her only daughter, Valerie Hasan-Alobadi (Hamoud Alobadi), grand children Hakim Watson Hasan, Kareem Watson, Jeehan Aberra and Ibrahim Burt, four great grandchildren, Rasa, Cyrus, Omar and Ali, and a host of nieces and nephews.  Visitation at 11:00 a.m., with funeral service at noon, will be held Saturday,  April 5, 2014 at the Chapel of Peace at the West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. Entombment immediately following Arrangements by Bringhurst Funeral Home at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
