Raiford Hare was born in 1768 and he is the oldest ancestor that we have been able to document and he died in 1838 in Gadsden County Florida, at the age of 70. The Probate Court spelled his first name as Rayford Hare and Census records Raiford Hare. Rayford had children in Larens County, Georgia starting around 1820 and their surnames, and in 1827, children in Gadsden County Florida, and in 1834 some of his children used the Sir name, Haire and born in Liberty County, Florida. This is  developing story and it will take time to work through all of the nuances. 

Raiford filed a homestead exemption in the Tallahassee, Florida Bureau of Land Management on October 20, 1835. Raiford owned 39.79 acres of land in the survey dated October 20, 1820.
